CAN THE LEGS BE USED FOR OUTDOOR FURNITURE?

Our table legs are mainly dedicated to indoor use especially wooden ones.

If you want to use them outdoors :

 – for the metal feet we recommend placing them in a covered outdoor area and winterizing them to protect them from corrosion and bad weather.

 - for the wooden ones we recommend that you varnish before installing them outdoors.

WHAT WEIGHT CAN OUR FEET SUPPORT ACCORDING TO THE MODELS?

The loads indicated below correspond to the average weight of the table or piece of furniture loaded for daily use in the home or office, so that the legs remain rigid and stable. Of course all our feet firmly fixed under your tray can support the weight of a person who would climb on it. On the other hand the whole could be a little elastic!

  • 40/50 kg : 4 reinforced STIC 60-30 / 4 TOLX
  • 50/80 kg : 4 TSTAR / 4 PROOV (in the event of a strong shock the plates may loosen, just tighten them)
  • 100/120 kg : 2 TUBO / 2 GAT0 (from 40 kg if the table is often moved, or shocked, the legs can take on a certain elasticity.
  • 150/200 kg : 4 GRAFK / 2 TRAPZ / 3 GAT0

WHAT MATERIAL DO I NEED TO ATTACH MY LEGS?

To mount our DIY feet, all you need is an electric screwdriver.

All our metal legs have 3 to 4 holes of 6mm diameter allowing them to be assembled to the tops with screws.

We have prepared bags of 5 screws cruciform PH2 4,8×25 (without end piece) that you can add to your basket, according to your needs. If you want to make a “blank” assembly or to facilitate the screwing (especially in your solid wood trays), make pilot holes in the tray with a 3mm diameter wood drill to a depth of approximately 12/15mm.

HOW ARE THE STIC LEGS ATTACHED?

Solid beech legs ICST are delivered with a threaded shaft diameter 8mm which can screw either directly into your tray or on an inclined plate sold separately required for example for certain IKEA furniture without legs (TV cabinet, shelf, low sideboard).
Once the plates have been fixed to the top with screws, all you have to do is screw the feet into the plates. STIC has a thread diam 8mm high; 5mm at the head if, you are using your own top that comes from an old table, check if there are not already threaded inserts diam 8mm that you could use!

COMPASS OR STAR FEET MOUNTING?

star table leg assembly Mounting the star feet

Refined and widely used in the 40s to 60s (notably by Jean Prouvé) this assembly is well suited to desks, consoles, coffee tables or even for certain seats.

This arrangement does not allow a guest to be seated at the end of the table.

Much more modern and dynamic, this design assembly adapts very well to high and low dining tables tables.

This assembly allows more open space at the end of the table.
