What leg height for your bedside table?

La diy bedside table to be manufactured must meet certain height and dimension criteria. In fact, it is worth measuring the space needed for the location.

Generally, the height oscillates between 60 and 71 cm.
In any case, it must always be higher than bedding with box spring that measures between 55 to 65 cm.

Des Pieds Sous Ma Tables recommends that you use legs with a height of 41 cm. By completing the 20 cm high of the cube, the bedside table obtained is 60 cm high. A few hinge screws are enough to fix the bedside table legs.

Choosing a bedside table leg: the combination of wood and metal

DIY bedside table material

– a 40 x 20 cm wooden box designed with cleats or reclaimed wood
– 4 feet 40 cm high
– two boards of 40 x 5 cm
– two boards of 20 x 5 cm
– caning
– 4 brackets to fix the door planks
– 2 metal hinges
– a staple gun
- wood glue.

Two natural materials such as wood and cane can accommodate table legs steel or metal. The wooden box will accommodate the two boards of 40 x 5 cm and 20 x 5 cm which serve as a frame for the door. Beforehand, attach the caning using the staple gun to the edge of the frame.

With wood glue, attach the boards that serve as the uprights of the frame. Secure the door planks with the 4 fixing brackets. Attach the 2 metal hinges for opening and closing the bedside cabinet door. Turn the furniture over and fix the table legs leaving a small space on the edges of the furniture. Turn the table right side up.

For a minimalist bedside table, we recommend the TSTAR metal table legs composed of three metal wires. For wooden feet, we opt for authentic beech table legs, from French forests: the STIC 41cm
